As part of the philanthropic commitment now carried by the Catherine Kühn Foundation, Manuella M. Santos initiated contact between Lomé’s university hospital and UNDP. She took Resident Representative Aliou Dia to the hospital, organised a meeting and requested his institution’s support for refurbishing the emergency department.

Togo’s official portal reports Aliou Dia’s visit to the hospital on 23 July 2020 and his announcement of UNDP support. UNDP confirms the handover of the renovated and equipped department on 19 May 2022.
This engagement helped bring the stakeholders together around the department’s needs. UNDP funded and delivered the refurbishment.
